Requirements for a Work permit

- Two [2] photographs of passport style and size [35 x 45mm] for all applicants,
Including minors. Your photograph must be:
- Colour photo
- Recent and true likeness
- Showing full face
- Taken without headgear
- Head coverings and hats are only acceptable due to religious beliefs, and even then, may not cover any portion of the applicant.s face
- Taken against a plain, evenly lit and light background
- Photographs that do not conform to these standards will be rejected and may cause delay in processing the application.
- You must have a written offer of work in Sweden. Information about registration of offer of employment is found on the website of : the Swedish employment office.
- Your employer shall guarantee your pay, insurance coverage and other terms of employment equal to at least the collective agreement or Swedish practice in the profession or the branch of trade.
- Accommodation must have arranged for you in Sweden.
- You must be fully prepared to leave Sweden when your term of employment is over.
- Your residence permit must be entered in your passport before your arrival in Sweden
The applicant must also pass an interview. The interview date will be booked on the day of submitting the application. supplementary documents
may be needed as well as a second interview.

According to the Passport (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act Chapter 343
Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 1990
“It shall be an offence for any person- to have, hold or be in unauthorised possession of more than one valid standard Nigerian passport.”
Therefore when submitting a new passport, all applicants are requested to cancel the previous passport.
All valid visas in that passport will remain valid.
If applicants decide not to submit their previous passports, travel history will not be taken into consideration.
All applications are forwarded Swedish Migration Board. The Embassy cannot affect the processing time.
The visa fees ( 43,400 Naira or 22 200 Naira incl. bank charge, if the application refer to an extension of a work permit in the same occupation or with the same employer) are not refundable. -
Applications are submitted Monday - Thursday between 10 am - 12 noon.
