Residence Permits By Reason of Studies in Sweden
IMPORTANT ! Before proceeding with applying for the residence permit, or buying your I-Card, please check on WHEN there is a slot available for interview at the Embassy of Sweden. There is currently a considerable congestion time for booking interviews and as a result the waiting time for interviews is much longer than usual. In addition, the Embassy is presently undergoing major construction works and technical installations which is reducing the number of applications handled. We regret any inconvenience caused. Applications containing ANY forged documents will NOT be processed and the application fee will NOT be refunded. Further, such person will be liable to prosecution and will be reported to the relevant authority including other Schengen Embassies. - Two recently taken photographs in colour
- Valid passport for the whole planned stay in Sweden
- Two copies of the laminated ID-page of the passport
- Two completed application forms (in block letters), signed by the applicant
- Original of marriage certificate, if married
- Birth certificate in original
- Admission letter from place of study in Sweden
- Certificate of your own banking assets
- Tax clearance certificate for previous year
- Certificates from previous highschool and university studies
- West African Senior School Certificate (WASSCE) or National Examination Council Exam (NECO)
- National Youth Service Certificate
- Print out of confirmation called "Appointment details"
- Two copies of each original document
Please note: that all the above required documents are compulsary and your application will NOT be processed unless all documents are provided. The application fee (17,800 naira incl. bank charges) is not refundable. Ensure there is a convenient time slot available for interview at the Embassy of Sweden before you pay the application fee. Applications are submitted Monday - Thursday between 10.00am - 12.00 noon and telephone enquiries are available on number 09/314 39 36 between 13.45 - 15.15 Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
The student applicant should book the interview at the Embassy of Sweden over the internet. » Applicant must apply in person at the Embassy. » All applications are submitted to the Swedish Migration Board. » The Embassy cannot affect the processing time which is estimated to minimum 8 weeks. » All original documents must be supplied in two copies.
