Residence Permits for family ties living in Sweden

Before you can submit your application, all applicants should book an interview with the embassy over the internet (www.swedenvisa.org). The application fee (11,600 naira for adult and 6,300 naira for children below 18 years old incl. bank charges) is not refundable.
  • Applicant must apply in person at the Embassy.
  • All applications are submitted to Swedish Migration Board for decision.
  • The Embassy cannot affect the processing time which is no more than six months from the day an application is submitted to a Swedish embassy or consulate.
  • All documents must be supplied in TWO copies.

  • 2 recent passport sized photograph in colour.
  • Valid passport.
  • 2 Copies of ID-page of the passport.
  • 2 copies of the extract from the swedish population register from the inviting person (personbevis).
  • 2 copies of Birth Certificate
  • 2 copies of Marriage Certificate, if married
  • Print out of confirmation called "Appointment details"

Please bring to the attention of all applicants:

According to the Passport (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act Chapter 343
Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 1990

“It shall be an offence for any person- to have, hold or be in unauthorised possession of more than one valid standard Nigerian passport.”

Therefore when submitting a new passport, all applicants are requested to cancel the previous passport.
All valid visas in that passport will remain valid.
If applicants decide not to submit their previous passports, travel history will not be taken into consideration.

IMPORTANT! The applicant must also pass a supplementary interview. The interview date will be booked on the day of submitting the application. supplementary documents may be needed as well as a second interview.
